Hello world and welcome to communication’d!
My name is Nevena and I am an adventurous and curious person! I love making videos and this is what you will see mostly in this blog.

I am from Sofia, Bulgaria and I love my home country! – family, friends, hospitality, excitement, beautiful nature and weather. So I think it will be nice to include at least a bit of information about that:
- Travel and holidays – I love: snowboarding in winter, camping at the sea side in summer, hikes in the breath-taking mountains, travelling around forgotten places and villages with 10 inhabitants; climbing Vitosha mountain for a half-day outing …
- People – people are very different in their way of thinking, interacting and behaving. I only realised that when I saw the contrast between Bulgarian, Dutch and Belgian culture. Bulgarians can be vague and indirect, they could be very hospitable (or hostile), they could be super excited or very negative … there is just no middle ground. This turbulence makes me feel very alive in Bulgaria.
- Lifestyle – cafés, restaurants, bars, home gatherings, it does not matter – we need to be with people. We like to be on the streets, in the parks (my personal favourite), in the malls (not my thing really) and, for some reason, in the public transport. We eat late and very long – dinner is a relative term; we eat … unhealthy, but very tasty – there is such thing as a WARM lunch; we often eat outside – restaurants are always full (and I mean always – some work 24/7)
- Flexibility– time is a very relative term, agendas are weird in Bulgaria, we do not really make appointments for dinner, we just pop in. It could get very annoying if you spend your time waiting around, but it can be handy when you need a technician to fix your fridge at 10pm (true story).
I heard blogging as a community experience, so read on and share what you think 🙂
